As Expected, Cameron McAdoo Will Miss Atlanta

As expected, Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Cameron McAdoo will not race the 250 East/West Showdown this weekend in Atlanta.

McAdoo sustained a grade 3 AC separation in his shoulder in a crash at press day last Friday in St. Louis.

Per The Steadman Clinic a grade 3 separation is “A complete separation of the joint. The acromioclavicular ligament, the coracoclavicular ligaments, and the capsule surrounding the joint are torn. Usually, the displacement is obvious on clinical exam. Without any ligament support, the shoulder falls under the weight of the arm and the clavicle is pushed up, causing a bump on the shoulder.”

Below is the official announcement from McAdoo:

“Quick update. As most of you know last week during press day I had a small crash that resulted in a grade 3 AC separation. Unfortunately I will not be racing in Atlanta this weekend as my shoulder just isn’t strong enough yet to race competitive and safely. I am obviously very disappointed there is nothing I want more than to be out there racing and I have been feeling so good on the bike lately. We are doing everything possible to be back strong and racing ASAP! Thanks everyone for your support see you soon.”

As we outlined earlier this week, with McAdoo out Honda HRC’s Jett Lawrence can clinch the 250SX East Region title as earlier as this weekend.

McAdoo will be officially eliminated from title contention if Lawrence fifth or better.
