We are down one round in the AMA Pro Motocross Championship and in this edition of Most Likely, we hit some key talking points such as: who is most likely to challenge Jett and Deegan, is Prado most likely to bounce back and more.

Which Rider is Most Likely to Challenge Haiden Deegan at Hangtown?

Haiden himself? Look, he is a class above the field right now. That is no offense to the other riders, they are world class, but Haiden is global (?) class. That makes no sense, but you get the point. It felt like he was toying with everyone last weekend. Yeah, that track suits him and blah, blah, but I just don’t get the sense anyone touches him this weekend either. Maybe I regret typing that, but for now, this is where I stand.

Which Rider is Most Likely to Challenge Jett Lawrence at Hangtown?

Jett himself? Similar to Deegan, Jett is just in another galaxy at the moment. He’s fresh off ACL surgery and ran away from the field in the first moto before fending off a hard charging Eli Tomac in the second moto. Yet, I felt like Tomac threw the kitchen sink at him, and he responded. Can Eli do it again? Because, as of right now, he is the only rider capable of giving Jett a run.

Is Jorge Prado Most Likely to Rebound this Weekend?

Nope. In the long run, Prado will be fine. He’s world champion for a reason. With little time on the bike, a new series and the weather (it’s going to be scorcher tomorrow), this weekend is going to be a struggle. As I wrote earlier this week, wait until High Point for Prado to really shine.

Who is Most Likely To Make a Surprising Run at the Podium in Either Class?

Not sure if it will be a surprise, but it will be Chance Hymas. He was strong in the first moto last weekend, and everything we’ve heard coming into the outdoors was how good he was going to be. Overall podium this weekend. Lead Slaw Lock of the Week.
