We are two rounds into the 2025 Pro Motocross Championship and in this edition of “Most Likely” I look into who will have the most moto wins between Deegan and Jett, will Tomac win in his return home and can Vialle bounce back?
Dig in below….
Most likely to get more moto wins: Deegan or Jett?
Hand up, I stole this idea from one of Steve’s 75 show. Can’t recall which one or even remember what was said, but hey, it was a good topic worth exploring.
First, the stats: Through two rounds, Deegan has four moto wins, while Jett has three. So Deegs is coming into round 3 with a slight advantage.
Is it too early to talk perfect season with Deegs? I mean, he’s toying with the field and even a reported sickness in the brutal heat at Hangtown didn’t slow him down. This is the Deegan we were all expecting this year. I love the 250 Class, there are some really great riders, but man, who is going toe-to-toe with Deegan and beating him straight up? Maybe a handful of guys on the right day. While I don’t think Deegan will have a perfect season, I think he wins at least 13 more motos over the next 18, which would give him 17 on the year. (Check my math, Slaw don’t math well.)
So, if Deegan wins 17 motos (not crazy, even though it kind of sounds crazy), Jett would have to win 15 of the next 18 to have more (again, check that math). I don’t see that happening. Eli is riding amazing. Sexton will return (maybe?) eventually and AP and JCoop taken another step this year. I think Jett wins the title, but not THAT many motos.
Slawdiction: Deegan by a slim margin.
Is Eli Tomac most likely to win in his return home?
The Tomac FINALLY returns to his “home” race this weekend at Thunder Valley where he hasn’t raced since 2022. His dad, John, a legend on the mountain bike, is the grand marshal for this weekend and this has all the makings for a great story. Which Jett will roon as he wins the overall. Sorry.
Most likely to make a podium run in the 250 Class?
What is up with Tom Vialle? This is bizarro world, man. He is a two-time MX2 World Champion for goodness sake, and he has just looked waaaayyyy off through two rounds. Maybe he’s behind on testing due to his late Supercross title run? I don’t know man but it hasn’t been good. WITH that said, he turns it around this weekend and grabs an overall podium.
