10 Things Every Rider Says When They Switch Teams

Ah, Silly Season, one of the best times of the year in the sport. New riders, new teams, new gear, new numbers, it just hits the feels.

With Silly Season nearly wrapped up (check out our 450 guide if you need some insight on what 2021 will look like) it’s that time of the year where every rider talks about their new team.

To save you the trouble of reading every interview, here are 10 things you’re bound to hear. Don’t try a drinking game with this, it could end badly.

1.) I felt comfortable on the bike right away.

2.) This team is so awesome.

3.) The bike turns a lot better.

4.) I always felt I was more suited for a 450.

5.) It’s a fresh start.

6.) We’ve got all the pieces of the puzzle.

7.) Everyone around me wants to win.

8.) Yeah, no, the bike is really fast.

9.) It’s a new year, new me. I just gotta keep digging and trust the process.

10.) Right away I’m two seconds a lap faster.

Obviously, these are not all of them. Have one? Drop it in the comments!

  1. Not saying the old bike was bad, but this one just suits my style better.

A fresh start is always good.

I kept reaching for the kickstarter (anyone coming off a Suzuki).

It’s so nice to have a crew that has way more resources and is willing to listen to me and give 110% like I am. (or any other backhanded jabs at their old team)

  2. “We gotta play ’em one day at a time.” – “I’m just happy to be here. Hope I can help the ball club.” – “I just wanna give it my best shot and, the good Lord willing, things will work out.
