A lot of rumors surrounding the Cooper Webb camp recently. From will the three-time AMA Supercross Champion return to Star Racing Yamaha in 2027 to will this be his last dance in Pro Motocross?

Taking to his personal Vlog on Monday, Webb addressed some of those rumors. He confirmed that the 2026 Pro Motocross season will be his last outdoors.

“I’m here to address the elephant in the room, the big rumor going around, and that is true, that this will be my final year racing the Pro Motocross series,” he began the video.

As for next year and beyond? While Webb didn’t lay out his entire plans, he said he will be racing Monster Energy AMA Supercross and the SMX Playoffs in 2027 and 2028. Rumors suggest Webb also wants to work in a deal to race the FIM World Supercross Championship.

“So, obviously there have been a lot of rumors going around,” he said. “The biggest one, umm, I will be racing the 2027 in 2028. I can’t tell you much more than that, but it’s for sure going to be a done deal. I will be racing outdoors this year on my Star Racing Yamaha. Super excited for it.

“I do have some great news, I will be racing 2027 and 2028 AMA Supercross and SMX for sure,” he continued. “And we’ll have more updates for you guys soon.”

What’s Next for Webb?

Well, that is still uncertain. Rumors kicked off prior to the Salt Lake City season finale when former champion Zach Osborne said on Steve Matthes Fly Racing Moto: 60 Show that he thinks Webb is headed to Team Tedder for next year.

“Cooper Webb, I think, he’s going to, what I’ve heard, Team Tedder,” Osborne said to Matthes.

As of now, these are just rumors, but there is a lot of smoke around them. If you remember, Jorge Prado was also linked to the team after splitting with Monster Energy Kawasaki. While Prado ultimately ended up with Red Bull KTM Factory Racing, a move to Team Tedder was certainly on the table.

The team is proven, having employed riders like Martin Davalos and Justin Hill and taking them to podium finishes in Supercross. Financially, it won’t be an issue and the team has good access to equipment from KTM.

What is most likely to happen? Hard to imagine Webb leaving Star, but with Haiden Deegan going full-time 450 in 2027, Justin Cooper’s deal expiring at the end of this year, and Cole Davies moving up soon, maybe it isn’t all that unlikely.

Stay tuned, as Silly Season is about to heat up and there are a LOT of moving parts this year.
