What Happened to Local Motocross Racing? | State of Racing

Local motocross racing isn’t the same. A lot of factors have contributed to its decline — cost of racing, training facilities and more. In the first episode of “State of Racing” we sit down with influential people from around the sport to discuss the state of local racing.

  1. Local racing is hurting because there are way too many classes which makes for way too long of days. It doesn’t help anyone when there are 3-6 people in your classes. Cut the classes, stack the gates and force more people out of classes. New riders don’t stick around getting the crap kicked out of them by people that should have already been moved out of the lower classes. A/B hardly even exist at the local level anymore.
