This is probably the greatest comeback story in the history of sports right here!
Our longtime friend Tyler Mickelson has been through a lot since June.
At Hangtown, then Toyota of Redlands/BarX Suzuki Crew Chief Mickelson was struck by Matti Jorgensen and he was in some bad shape for months. It was a completely freak deal, but the injuries were bad. The man, who is also known as Otter had a torn meniscus and ACL, two broken fibula, tibia, broken knee cap, and soft tissue damage.
He couldn’t walk for months and had a terrible skin issue due to the swelling.
Since then, Otter has been busy. He moved to Florida to work for the Firepower Honda team and he’s now working for Shane McElrath. So, you know what that means…McElrath won the Vancouver GP, the first round of the World Supercross Championship over the weekend.
Mickelson picked up his first career win in his first race back from injury…thanks to Sugar Shane too of course.
I would like to take this time to congratulate both Otter and McElrath for the win over the weekend. Both of these guys have been through so much these past couple of years and it makes me happy to see great people persevere.
I would say that this one feels pretty damn great for our guy Otter!
