A crash during testing this week will rule out Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Garrett Marchbanks for round 2 of Monster Energy Supercross in San Diego on Saturday, the team announced on Friday.
While the team has yet to release full details Racer X is reporting that Marchbanks was unable to pass concussion protocol.
The Utah native made his 450 Supercross debut last Saturday at the season opener in Anaheim, but had a forgettable night. He crashed in the whoops in the LCQ and failed to qualifying for the main event.
“A really tough night at A1 and one that sits heavy with me,” he wrote on social media after the race. “My bike and team are top notch, I just need to keep it on two wheels next time. Things happen and I’m keeping my head held high.”
We will provide more information as it becomes available.
Round 2 of the championship heads to San Diego on Saturday and you can watch live via the Peacock beginning at 7:00 p.m. ET / 4:00 p.m. PT.
