Remember several years ago when Daniel Blair went on the PulpMX Show and said that Jett Lawrence is a generational…Jetterational…talent? I think at that point we all saw that Jett was going to be great, but Blair Dog was actually the first to say ‘generational’ talent, as in Jett was going to be one of the greatest the sport has ever seen.
Well, I’m here today to go on record and tell all of you that Drew Adams is generational as well. If I’m right, which I am, I get to be praised like Blair! If I’m wrong, which I’m not, well then I’m just wrong again. Who cares, y’all will forget about this in a couple of hours anyway.
Adams is the next biggest star of the sport and I think he’s going to be great for many reasons.
He Actually Races
One thing that Adams doesn’t do is hide at a training facility and race twice a year. This kid races everything. Maybe you other kids should learn from this. Going to Canada to race was a huge move this summer. He clearly wanted to get gate drops and race against some professional talent before moving on to the Pro Motocross Championship. Adams still has a great chance of winning the title up North and as I write this he’s also on the cusp of winning the Nicky Hayden AMA Horizon Award. He’s won more often than not of everything that he’s raced this season.
He’s Young
Drew turned 16 on March 31st of this year. That means that when he was racing the B classes in 2022 at Loretta’s that he was freshly 14. You see some riders these days not make the transition to pro until they’re almost 20, which is totally fine too. It’s just unique to see a rider at 16, who will make that jump. It is quite rare these days.
He’s Got Mitch
Mitch Payton has been winning for 25 years and he’s about to go on another championship run with Adams. It’s giving Ryan Villopoto vibes.
He’s Moved Up Early
Adams has never been scared to move up early or dodge a class. He’s always moved into the age group classes as soon as he could. He’s always chased after the faster riders in his classes and has had no problems hanging with that speed. Just looking back at his classes at Loretta’s over the years he’s already battled with the likes of Daxton Bennick, Casey Cochran, Haiden Deegan, and more. This is going to help him in the long run as he makes his transition into the pro ranks.
He Rides With Generational Talent
It doesn’t hurt that Adams gets to ride with Hunter and Jett at their compound. Generational talent helping generational talent.
I’m most impressed by Adams’ ability to manage a race. He takes his time and keeps an eye on everyone, which is what Jettson does as well.
You guys will see how RIGHT I’am soon.
I can’t wait until I’ll look like a genius, just like my guy DB.
