Shane McElrath Injured Ahead of Houston Opener

Shane McElrath’s 450 debut will be delayed, as the Smartop/Bullfrog Spas/MotoConcepts rider announced he suffered a grade three AC separation in his right shoulder.

The injury will sideline him for the opening round of Monster Energy Supercross set to commence next Saturday, Jan. 16.

After finishing the 2020 season runner up in the 250SX East Region, McElrath pointed out of the 250 Class and was linked to multiple 450 teams, including Star Racing, the now defunct JGRMX squad, and HEP Suzuki. He eventually signed with MotoConcepts Honda to race alongside Broc Tickle, Benny Bloss and Vince Friese.

A timeline on his return has not been announced.
