Seth Hammaker Injured in Practice Crash

Someone get Mitch Payton a stiff drink. My goodness.

The Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki team was dealt another blow as the team announced that Seth Hammaker broke his wrist during a testing session and is out for at least the 250SX East Region opener set for Houston on Feb. 4.

“Devastated is an understatement,” Hammaker wrote on Instagram. “Crashed yesterday during practice in preparation for round 1 of east coast. Fractured arm/wrist. Surgery Friday to get this thing fixed up. It’s been a great off season till this point. Felt like I had all the pieces to compete for wins and be in the title fight. Focusing on what I can control now and use this to fuel the fire and come back stronger! Thankful to have good people behind me who have helped make the situation easier and continue to stick behind me.”

The 2021 Monster Energy Supercross ‘Rookie Of The Year’ award winner, claimed two consecutive podium finishes at the start of the 2022 Western Regional Championship and secured eight top-10 overall finishes in the AMA Pro Motocross season.

The team is currently without Austin Forkner, Jett Reynolds and Ryder DiFrancesco. Jo Shimoda is scheduled to race the East Region. The team has signed Carson Mumford to fill-in. He will make his debut at Oakland Supercross.
