With the SMX Next Championship kicking off this weekend at Anaheim 2, what a better way to introduce our rider comparison feature inside the Vurbmoto Prospect app.
Vincent Wey, son of the legendary Nick Wey, and Kade Johnson will both be riding under the Team Green Kawasaki tent this weekend and we figured: why not compare their amateur career stats?
Johnson, a long-time Yamaha rider, made the switch to Team Green ahead of Mini O’s at Gatorback Cycle Park in November and had a breakout performance bringing home of the 250 Pro Sport and 450 Pro Sport titles in the Supercross-portion of the event and taking home the Dunlop Silver Tire Award, which is awarded to the rider in the Pro and A classes that accumulates the highest number of points in the Supercross main and Motocross overall combined.
Wey, meanwhile, has been a Team Green kid since moving to the team ahead of the 2025 amateur season, and will race SMX Next before going to Canada to race the Canadian Nationals this summer.
