Welcome to the 2023 Slaw/Troy Dog/Ginger Dog Combined 250/450 Top Ten Power Rankings! Slaw, Ginger, and Troy each have created their own list of who they believe carry the most power in the sport. They each have created their own categories and have weighted these people accordingly, whether its speed, following, skills, you name it. Or it could just be random. Basically, whatever is happening that week is fair game.

Each week these rankings will be updated so that you guys can argue about how wrong they are in the comment section! Feel free to tell us if we’re right/wrong/or completely dumb.

-My second ever outdoor national was RedBud (first being Unadilla). Don’t ask me what year it was because I don’t remember. I also knew nothing about the sport at this time but kept hearing about some guy named Mike and how sitting at LaRocco’s Leap to watch the big boys do their thing was a non negotiable. I remember squeezing onto the hot metal bleachers because it was packed. I don’t know who it was that came over first or even what class it was but I was in complete awe. Anytime someone would hit the leap everyone in the stands would lose their freaking minds. It was awesome and it’s a memory I don’t think I’ll ever lose. When I think of RedBud I think of LaRocco (oh yeah, he’s also going to be in attendance this year for the 50th anniversary).

-He’s back and I’m claiming him as my guy this weekend.

-El Hombre says he’s rusty coming off the couch. I say he’s going to make everyone work this weekend.

-Six Time! I remember hearing his voice over the loudspeaker at RedBud last year and as it turns out he will be back this year for the 50th anniversary. Long story short Jeff and I have a mutual friend. I’ve known her for over a decade and she currently works with his wife up in Michigan. I remember when she first realized I was involved in moto she messaged me and said, “Have you ever heard of Jeff Stanton.” I’ll let you guys get creative with what you think my response was. To quote her she says “He’s a really neat guy, good Christian man, down to earth, and extremely hard working.” I shall also add that he is a legend.

-I am totally unsurprised that he is back already. Unstoppable.

-All I needed to see was “I underwent a successful ACL repair.” Rest up. Health is always #1. ‘23 was just not it.

-It’s wedding month! (starting tomorrow)

-Another RedBud classic. Is he the unspoken mascot of this place? He has more followers on IG than I do. I’m losing to a plastic deer and I love it.

-Kid Rock = Red Bud aesthetic. Can you imagine if they ever got him to sing the national anthem there? The entire place would implode (too soon?)

-I’m a month into summer and the amount of Bluey I’ve watched with my kids is sickening. The plus side is I’m pretty well versed in Aussie slang. Some of my favorites include: dobber, dunny, squibs, and grey nomads.

-Merica. RedBud. Dirtbikes. My god, what a weekend we have coming up.

-We here at Vurb are big fans of the glizzies. Thanks to Fist, we have FREE glizzies at every Shred Tour event. Know what holiday is synonymous with glizzies? July 4th. Amazing weekend!

-Lot B and beer bongs and glizzies are just Merica at its finest.

-Yeah, still undefeated.

-Really stoked to see Chase back already. Can he challenge Jett?

-Really stoked to see Cooper back already. Can he challenge Hunter?

-Yeah, still undefeated.

-We have REAL wrastling coming to Summer Slam next weekend. My god, its going to be amazing.

Troy Dog

-The United States of America is celebrating its 247th birthday on Tuesday, which is almost as old as Slaw Dog.

-REDBUUUUUUD! I will not be at RedBud this year, but I will be wishing I was. There is really nothing better than celebrating America’s birthday at the greatest track on the circuit (IMO). The fans, the legends, the track, the HEP Suzuki pool, and playing basketball with Jett will all be missed this year.

-WSX kicks off this weekend, which means that we get indoor and outdoor racing on a holiday weekend! This championship has so many great storylines and it’s going to be fun to add it to the mix of content that we create.

-Look, I should have Rick Ross on the Power Rankings every single week. It’s Rick Ross. The guy has many family favorite songs including ‘Hustlin’, ‘B.M.F’, and my personal favorite ‘Yacht Club’. He’s my vibe for the summer and shoutout to Harv Dog for telling me to put him on the ranks.

-This year marks the one-year anniversary of me jumping into the pool of Marshal Weltin’s pee over at the HEP Suzuki truck for the Racer X/Twisted Tea Post Show. I’m still alive, despite Weege telling me I wouldn’t be. I did it for you people out there, ya know? My fans. All 12 of you.

-Justin Cooper is back? Coop, you just swallowed your handlebars, bro. You’re gnarly.

-I had Shawn Rife on the Squad Pod this week to discuss his amateur career and what he’s up to now. It ended up being a tell-all as Rife didn’t hold back any secrets on why he never accomplished his goals as a professional racer. He’s at peace with how it all turned out. Listen now on the Vurbmoto Podcast Network.

-I recorded a conversation with Justin Rodbell for next week’s Squad Pod and he’s getting closer to his return to racing after blowing out his Achilles before Thanksgiving. I can hear a two-stroke on his return at Washougal too.

-My buddy Denny is always quick to point out when I’m wrong, even if I did something right. Then he apologizes for being wrong or coming in hot and yelling at me. Each week he yells at me for something. This week I didn’t write about Tom Vialle and that didn’t sit well with the 1990 125SX East Region champion. Sorry Den Dog, I can’t wait to see what I mess up next week. He will let me know.

-The Squad’s own Kirk Newman is the head of security at RedBud and his team remains undefeated. You want to try to sneak into the pits, well good luck. Kirk will throw you in jail.
