Nate Thrasher Update Following Anaheim 1

Good news for Monster Energy/Star Racing Yamaha’s Nate Thrasher.

Thrasher was in solid position at the Monster Energy Supercross opener on Saturday night in the 250 main event, as he battled Max Vohland for fifth early in the race. Unfortunately, Thrasher hit a tricky kicker (the same one that got Cooper Webb in the 450 main event) and landed hard on his shoulder.

Thrasher did not finish the race and rode off the track on the Alpinestars Medical Mule and was credited with 21st.

According to a Yamaha post-race press release, Thrasher is okay and will be ready for round 2 in San Francisco this Saturday.

“It was a tough Anaheim 1. We were just struggling a bit in practice, but I felt pretty good going into the night show. We finished third in the heat and got a decent start in the main, but unfortunately, I crashed about halfway through the race,” said Thrasher. “I hit a kicker on the hip jump and went down pretty hard. I’m feeling pretty sore, but we’re all good for next weekend. It’s not how we wanted to start the season, but that’s racing. We’ll come back stronger in San Francisco.”
