Most Likely: Where Do the Coenen Brothers Finish, Can Anyone Breakaway in the 250 Class and Thunder Valley Picks

Two rounds down in Pro Motocross and I honestly have no idea what to think about either of the classes. Speaking purely from a fan point of view, this might be the best summer of racing we’ve had in years–in both classes.

We have more to look forward to this weekend as Lucas and Sacha Coenen, the respective points leaders in Europe right now, will join an already loaded field.

So, lets get into some pressing questions.

Where are the Coenen bros most likely to finish?

Hand up, I don’t watch a ton of MXGP. I try and catch as much as I can, but I’m not an expert by any means. With that said, I got an up close look at the brothers at the Motocross of Nations last year and the hype is legit. 

They. Are. Fast. 

How they deal with the travel, a different bike (MXGP doesn’t have production rules), a new schedule (no qualifying races, shorter practice schedule, one-day event, et) and trying to leave Thunder Valley in one piece to protect their points lead are all things working against them. 

And I still have them placing at least top five overall. All the other stuff goes out the window when you get on the bike and the brothers have the speed to run up front.

Who is most likely to break away in the 250 Class?

No. One. This class is going to be more up and down than Britney Spears. Great one minute. Not so great the next . Which is why we will all be glued to it the entire summer. 

Who is most likely to win this weekend?

Hard to bet against the Lawrence brothers. Which one is the question. I’ll give the slight edge to Jett this weekend with Hunter finishing runner-up. Deegan rounds out the podium again. 

Chance Hymas is my sneaky pick. It’s not a lead Slaw lock of the week or anything, just a gut feeling. Kitchen and Ham Dog round out the podium.
