More Changes Announced for 2020 MXGP Calendar

The FIM Motocross World Championship just completed three rounds at Kegums in Latvia to restart the revised 2020 championship. The “bubble-type” races will continue, as Infront Moto Racing and the FIM have had to modify the 2020 calendar yet again due to COVID-19.

The MXGP of Turkey in Afyonkarahasir that was set to take place on September 6 and the MXGPs of Portugal in Agueda (TBC) and Russia in Orlyonok (TBC) have been postponed to 2021.

In addition to the three GPs set for Lommel in Belgium, Italy will host nine races in the coming months.

There will be also three consecutive events in Faenza (Italy):

  • The MXGP of Italy on September 6.
  • The MXGP of Città di Faenza on September 9.
  • The MXGP of Emilia Romagna on September 13.

MXGP will then head to Mantova (Italy) for three more consecutive events:

  • The MXGP of Lombardia on September 27.
  • The MXGP of Città di Mantova on September 30.
  • The MXGP of Europe on October 4.

The calendar includes further changes with another three consecutive events in Pietramurata (Italy):

  • The MXGP of Trentino will be held on November 1.
  • New on the calendar is the MXGP of Pietramurata, scheduled on November 4.
  • New on the calendar is the MXGP of Garda – Trentino, scheduled on November 8.

The MXGP of Patagonia in Neuquen (Argentina) remains part of the 2020 FIM Motocross World Championship calendar as TBC depending on the ongoing national conditions.
