Metal Starting Grids Coming to Pro Motocross in 2023

Metal grids on start lines are pretty much everywhere now. The metal starting grate was first used at the Monster Energy Cup in 2013 when the race featured an elevated start. There are now used full time in Supercross and MXGP.

Hell, I see them at a lot of amateur tracks.

Well, now they are coming to Pro Motocross. Starting this season, metal grids are here, MX Sports announced today.

MX Sports released a new rulebook which includes the following:

Changes include the incorporation of metal grids for the Start Line, replacement of the WOG flag with the Red Cross flag, and removal of series-provided secondary medical insurance coverage. All riders are required to carry primary medical insurance covering all event-related activity.
