Pro Motocross returns to Thunder Valley this weekend for round 3 of the championship and there has been some injury news dropping over the last few days. Instead of making you click a bunch of links I have decided to put the latest news in one place.
Justin Cooper announced on social media that he will miss Thunder Valley after suffering a concussion in a crash at Hangtown.
Since turning pro in 2017, Cooper has never missed a round of Pro Motocross! In fact, the last Pro Motocross event that took place without Cooper was Washougal 2017—before Cooper even turned pro.
He wrote on social media that he hopes to return at RedBud.
“Update for everyone. I’ll be missing this weekends race in Colorado,” Cooper wrote on social media. “It’ll be my first race missed on the 450 and first outdoor that I’ve not shown up to since turning pro at the end of 2017. Overall I’m feeling good, cycled this morning and my goal is to get my body healthy and return after the break at RedBud.”
Malcolm Stewart will miss a second straight round after injuring his knee at the season opener at Fox Raceway. Per Racer X, the team hopes Stewart can return for RedBud.
Monster Energy/Pro Circuit Kawasaki announced this week that Drew Adams will make his 2026 Pro Motocross debut after missing the opening two rounds due wrist and thumb injury to his left hand sustained at Cleveland Supercross.
Max Anstie had a massive crash in qualifying at the opener and is still banged up. He’s out for Thunder Valley.
Daxton Bennick has had two second moto crashes and he and the team have decided to sit out Thunder Valley. No further details have been provided but Bennick did post the following:
“Hate to be making this post but me and the team have decided I will not be racing this weekend,” he wrote on social media. “I’ve had a few crashes and need to focus on getting healthy right now for I can be back at my full potential. We will keep you guys updated.”
Nate Thrasher was involved in the huge first turn crash last weekend and has a hematoma the size of a watermelon—his words not mine—on his bum bum. He’s out for the weekend.
“I’m bummed to share I will be sitting out Thunder Valley,” he wrote on social media. “I was unfortunately caught up in the first turn crash last weekend. Thankfully nothing serious, just all around beat up and have a hematoma the size of a watermelon on my bum. Going to reset and come back swinging soon thanks team.”
