Ken Roczen On Returning to Suzuki: “Something Felt Very Familiar”

After an off-season of “Where will Ken Roczen land?” we finally got an answer: he was returning to Suzuki.

Of course, Roczen is very familiar with the brand. He rode for RCH Suzuki in 2015 and 2016 and won the 2016 Pro Motocross title with the team. Oh, and Ken’s career in Europe started with Suzuki.

For maybe the first time ever, I agree with Troy Dog that Ken going back to Suzuki is a good thing for him and the brand. To me, Ken doesn’t have the same pressure riding for Suzuki as he did with Honda HRC. Also, is there a brand that needed this more than Suzuki? The answer of course is no.

On the latest episode of SMX Insider, Ken talked about his return to the brand.

“As soon as I jumped on the bike… of course I’m still learning the bike, but something felt very familiar and I was really comfortable on it right away. I guess the bike did something to me that was unique and special and I enjoy it every time I go on the track.”

Will Ken win races this year? I think so. A title? I don’t know.

What are your expectations for Ken and Suzuki this year?

  1. Winning races? Why not? He is a special character and one hell of a dirt bike racer. Adult, not old.
