Just Win, Baby! Ryder DiFrancesco Dominates Supercross Futures in Oakland

To say Ryder DiFrancesco dominated the Supercross Futures race in Oakland this weekend would be a vast, vast, vast understatement. The Team Green Kawasaki rider was head and shoulder above the field all weekend long.

In Friday’s qualifying session, Ryder D was nearly seven full seconds faster than second place Dylan Cunha.

On Saturday, a second qualifying session was run to determine gate picks for the race and Ryder was once again the fastest, this time his top time five seconds faster than second place.

In the main event, on the same track the pros raced later on Saturday night, Ryder D was, again, the fastest by a long, long ways. He jumped out to a commanding lead in the six-minute plus one lap race and went on to win by 32.5 seconds over Nicholas Nisbet and Cunha.

The top four from the six regional main event races (DiFrancesco, Nisbet, Cunha, and Blake Ashley from Oakland) all qualified to race the finale at the Salt Lake City Supercross on May 7.

Twenty-four total riders will compete for the Supercross Futures AMA National Championship in Salt Lake City.
