Jeremy Martin is Thriving Racing Mountain Bikes | Provides the Wholesome Update WE Needed

We’d be lying if we said we didn’t miss Jeremy Martin.

The two-time 250 Pro Motocross Champion has been forced to sit out the majority of the season due to some lasting concussion symptoms.

He also announced in his Instagram post that he has a UCL Avulsion Fracture. You can thank me because I went ahead and did my research on what exactly this injury is. The UCL is the Ulnar Collateral Ligament and it is located in the elbow. According to the National Institute of Health, “An avulsion fracture is a failure of bone in which a bone fragment is pulled away from its main body by soft tissue that is attached to it.”

That doesn’t sound like too much fun, but shout out to me for my advanced journalism techniques, right?

Anyway, back to J-Mart, since he can’t get back on a dirt bike yet, he’s been grinding away riding his mountain bike and running. Apparently his big brother Alex has been getting him in the best shape of his life courtesy of Troll Training. That’s not breaking news. The Martin’s are absolute animals when it comes to training. They always have been known for that.

We hadn’t heard anything on J-Mart since he posted on Instagram nine weeks ago until yesterday. He posted that he raced the Leadville 100 over the weekend and he finished 48th overall. I’m not exactly the expert of mountain bike racing, so I took some legend’s words for it in the comment section of how gnarly this race is. Our friend Brett Smith from WeWentFast said that it’s the ‘gnarliest MTB race in the world’.

Martin also received praise from Jeff Ward, Ricky Carmichael, Justin Brayton, RJ Hampshire, Phil Nicoletti, Kyle Peters, and some guy named Wil Hahn.

The biggest compliment came from Johnny O’Mara who also knows a thing or two about racing mountain bikes. “Way to represent the Moto industry, 7:07 geez first attempt,” O’Mara wrote.

This is the wholesome content that we needed today and it’s good to hear from Martin. He’s always been great to us over the years. We hope to see him back on a dirtbike soon, but if not it looks like he’s got quite the future ahead of him racing mountain bikes!
