Hunter Lawrence Update: Cleared for Southwick

Honda HRC confirmed today that Hunter Lawrence has been cleared to race round 6 of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship at Southwick on Saturday.

The 250 points leader went down hard on the start of the second 250 moto at RedBud last Saturday and stayed down for a while before being loaded onto the medical cart and take to the Alpinestars Mobile Medical Unit. He was unable to return to the moto. Fortunately, a checkup didn’t reveal anything serious enough to cause him to miss further action, and Hunter looks forward to trying to get back on top at the next round.

“It was a bit of a hero-to-zero day here at RedBud,” said Hunter. “We executed perfect for our first-moto holeshot and rode good laps, well within my limits. The second moto was a bit of chaos after the start. I’m not entirely sure where it went wrong—I didn’t holeshot, so I guess that’s where it started. It’s unfortunate, but it is what it is—part of the sport. I’m thankful it’s nothing major; we’ll buff her out, and should be good to go.”

Haiden Deegan took the overall win at RedBud and trimmed Hunter’s points lead to just 11 entering Southwick.
