We’re entering the third year of the SuperMotocross Playoffs as the three-round championship kicks off this Saturday in Charlotte, NC. Created jointly by Feld Motor Sports (promoters of Monster Energy Supercross) and MX Sports (promoters of Pro Motocross), the Playoffs were designed to give the sport a true year-end championship—similar to stick-and-ball sports—and, of course, provide more money to the riders bank accounts.
How much money are we talking? Over $4 million in total purse money across the three rounds. Not a bad payday for three weekends of racing.
- 450 Class: The champion will pocket $1 million, second place takes home $500,000, and third earns $250,000. Even 22nd in points walks away with $25,000.
- 250 Class: The winner collects $500,000, runner-up gets $250,000, and third place nets $150,000. Even last place in the standings leaves with $2,000.
