4 Reasons Fall Pro Motocross is Better than Summer Pro Motocross

Ah, the great outdoors in the fall! It’s the core fans of the sport and where true men are made in the grueling 30-plus 2 motos. I’m a huge fan of moto starting this late in the year. Things have taken a drastic swing in Lucas Oil Pro Motocross through the first three rounds. The 450 Class has taken over the “deep” field from the 250 Class and now each of those motos are super bangers! Meanwhile, the 250 Class has kind of been a yawner (except when Dylan Ferrandis falls in the first turn). Let’s get into some other reasons why a fall series is SOOO MUCH BETTAH!

4.) The Late Start

The Nationals are kicking off just about right when they should be ending. I don’t know about you but when something with normalcy changes, I get more excited than Chilidog with a fresh case of Claws. I just picture it as a “summer break” like the GNCC series has. No wonder Zach Osborne is doing so well. He is the only rider to race a GNCC. Don’t make Aaron Plessinger come back and show you how it’s done.

3.) Rides Are Spoken For

Let’s face it, 98.5% of you have a ride already in place for next season or beyond… or you have no chance at one. What do you have to lose? Put on your big boy riding pants and let’s impress some people this fall. It’s 2020 and the world is coming to an end. What the heck do we have to lose?

2.) Double Rounds

Two words: Double RedBud! … and double Loretta Lynn’s, thou that’s in the past. Two of my favorite tracks have held/will hold double Nationals and I’m so excited that I didn’t go to any of them. However, if you do race amateur day this weekend and sneak in the race please do me a solid favor and lose your voice. You need to make up for the 60,000+ people who usually chant RedBud over the span of an entire weekend. Good luck and we are all counting on you.

1.) Autumn Vibes

Chances are if you’re reading this then you probably race or at least ride moto. I’m biased, but I hope you all can agree that fall is lowkey the best time to ride your dirt bike. That cool breeze on a warm day just hits different. The leaves are changing and falling. If you have a fire at the track you can keep it going all day so you can stay warm. Then you can break out the pumpkin spice Claws and get jiggy with it. I love Mini O’s for the many reasons above (it counts as an autumn race, not winter) and any other large race that throws it down in the fall season. Lucas Oil Pro Motocross is going to get a dose of it in the next several weeks and I cannot wait to watch it unfold!
