The Muddy Creek Top Gun Showdown has been happening since the ancient times. Some say that as soon as the Ancient Greeks created the sport of motocross that they first broke ground on Muddy Creek Raceway for its first race in 1300BC. Kyle Chisholm, a rookie at the time, won that day, which is incredible because centuries later he’s still racing!
I’ll be honest, the above paragraph may or may not be true, but who cares…right? None of you will fact check me. I’ve simply had too much coffee this morning and I need to get everyone in the world through the gates of Muddy Creek this weekend. So, did I sell you on coming out to the race? Well, if not then read the rest of this article. Then I promise you that you will.
Fall Racing
Let’s be real for a minute, Fall racing is the bees knees. It’s far superior than racing in any other season. You can actually enjoy yourself and not sweat to death. Spring is way too cold, especially in the morning practice sessions. The Autumn weather in Tennessee this time of year is absolutely incredible. So, break out the flannels, fire rings, and s’mores and let’s get down to business at Muddy Creek. You can’t miss this vibe.
Cody Gragg Memorial Two Stroke Showdown
As of right now, almost $27,000 is up for grapbs for the 8th Annual FMF Cody Gragg Memorial 2 Stroke Race. That’s a lot of cheddar! Every year Aaron Plessinger donates $10,000 to the purse of this race in honor of his friend. Gragg and Plessinger grew up racing together and they became like family over the years, so AP plans on donating forever. If you’re a pro and have a two stroke, then you can’t miss traveling to Tennessee for a chance to win this money in honor of a great human.
$37,000 Purse AND Growing
Not only does the Two Stroke Showdown have an incredible purse, but Saturday the pro payout will be $3,000 and on Sunday $7,000. For once race weekend, you could make close to what some people make in an entire year! Therefore, Chancellor…you can’t miss this event!
Most of the Greats Have Raced
Zach Osborne, Cooper Webb, Aaron Plessinger, Kyle Peters, Mike Brown, Jacob Hayes…I could go on and on. The amount of heritage that has raced this event is top tier. So many great battles here over the years. If you’ve raced the Showdown, then welcome to the list. If you haven’t, then this reason alone is why you need to come out and race.
