The FIM World Motocross Championship is Returning to Australia in 2025

Get your shoeys ready, mates. The FIM World Motocross Championship is returning to Australia for the first time in more than 20 years.

Over the weekend at the Motocross of Nations, Infront Racing, promoters of the championship, announced that the series will return to Australia Sept. 19-21, 2025 in Darwin. 

According to MotoOnline.com.au, “a soon-to-be constructed, purpose-built track at the Hidden Valley Motorsports Complex will become the new home of the MXGP of Australia.”

The last time MXGP visited Australia was in 2001, when the Australian Grand Prix was held in Broadford, near Melbourne.

In addition to the MXGP and MX2 classes, the event will also see the inclusion of the FIM Women’s Motocross World Championship with Darwin set to become the first city in Australia to host the WMX World Championship.

It was a massive weekend for Australian motocross, as Team Australia, led by Jett and Hunter Lawrence captured the overall at the Motocross of Nations for the first time in history on Sunday.
