Everything You Need to Know About the NY State Motocross Championships This Weekend | Live Coverage, Pro Purse and More

The 2026 Amateur Motocross New York State Championships return August 21–23 to High Voltage Hills MX in Greig, New York, with racing Saturday and Sunday, and for fans who can’t make the trip to Lewis County, every moto will stream live for free all weekend on RacerTV, with a full multi-camera broadcast produced by Stoke Media Group.

The New York State Championships bring together the fastest amateur racers from across the Northeast for a weekend of racing on one of the region’s most demanding tracks. From mini bikes to A-class contenders, state titles are on the line in every division — and with them, bragging rights that last all year.

THE TRACK

High Voltage Hills MX sits in the Tug Hill region of Lewis County, on the edge of the Adirondacks — a fast, wide open sand track that develops deep ruts and lines as the weekend wears on, and the layout’s tight turns, big jumps, and aggressive elevation changes mean nothing comes easy. This year, the track will be run in the reverse direction — putting a spin on the racing for locals returning and newcomers alike.

Since opening in 2015, High Voltage Hills has set the standard in the AMA District 3 racing community, earning the CNYMRA Track of the Year award nine consecutive times. In 2026, High Voltage Hills once again hosts the New York State Motocross Championship — cementing its place as one of the premier amateur racing venues in the Northeast.

A FAMILY-BUILT FACILITY

High Voltage Hills MX is the vision of founder and owner Nick Zielinski, who grew up racing dirt bikes across New York with his family, based out of their camp in the Tug Hill woods. What began as an idea for a fun, family-oriented sand track on land across from that camp has grown into an AMA-sanctioned facility that draws riders and fans from across the region. Today, the Zielinski family continues to build and improve the track with the same goal they started with: giving racing families a place to make lasting memories.

“This event is everything we built High Voltage Hills for — the best amateur racers in the state, families camping all weekend, and a track that makes them earn it. We can’t wait to drop the gate.” Nick Zielinski, Owner, High Voltage Hills MX

THE RACING

Five names to watch this weekend. Hudson Vagele comes home to Selkirk having won the Schoolboy 1 (12–17) B/C national championship at Loretta Lynn’s earlier this month — the biggest amateur race in the country. Trevor Schmidt returns to defend the 450 Expert number one plate. Caiden West and Larry Fortin both double up in 450 A and 250 A, chasing a share of the $10,000 purse in each. Trevor Schneider rounds out the group.

They line up against a money-class field that also includes Paul Best Jr., Logan Forward, and Payton Morningstar, who rides down from Ontario after finishing eighth overall in 450 B at Loretta Lynn’s in 2022.

Beyond the A classes, the depth is in the amateur ranks: 250 C and 450 C are the biggest fields on the sheet, and the mini classes — Junior Mini, Senior Mini, Supermini and Mini Combined — carry the largest share of young riders on the property. Entries have come in from New York, Ontario, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Florida.

The headline classes bring pro-level stakes: a combined $10,000 guaranteed purse across 450A and 250A, paid out per moto in a two-moto format. Twelve positions deep in each moto — every pass is worth money.

FOLLOW EVERY RIDER ON THE VURBMOTO PROSPECT APP

New for 2026, the broadcast pairs with the Vurbmoto Prospect app — amateur motocross’s fan engagement platform — connecting the racing on screen with rider data in your pocket. Prospect delivers live timing and scoring, detailed rider profiles, complete race history, and national rankings, so fans can go deeper on every rider battling for a state title. Rider stats and rankings from Prospect will be integrated into the Stoke broadcast, putting the numbers behind the racing on screen as it happens.

Along with all the partner platforms, the broadcast streams inside Prospect itself — the race on screen and the live timing and scoring for it in the same place, so fans can follow a rider’s moto and their lap times without switching apps.

The Prospect app is free to download on the App Store and Google Play.

“We’ve lived and bled amateur motocross since the early 2000s, and our passion for helping it grow and engaging with the community has no bounds. Our sport has more depth now than ever before, which is why we built the Vurbmoto Prospect app, a solution that finally allows us to track the entirety of a racer’s career, from amateur to pro. Pairing this with the Stoke team and their amazing broadcasts, we’re bringing together everything we all love to give back to the sport. Harnessing Prospect’s data — from rider history and national rankings to who’s actually coming up, along with just about every data point you’ve ever considered — will help take the storytelling around these events to the next level. We’re extremely excited and grateful to play a small part in these productions.” – Wes Williams, Co-Founder, Vurbmoto
