Can you believe that the kickoff to the 2024 Pro Motocross Championship marked the 15th season of Justin Barcia’s career?
Like what…where did that time go?
It’s safe to say over those those 15 years that Bam Bam has stayed true to himself and is basically the same rider that he’s always been, which is very impressive.
The 2024 season has been a bit bumpy for Barcia. After his bad crash at the SMX Finale in the Los Angeles Coliseum he had to come into the season without much prep. He ended up getting a bad viral infection after Anaheim 1, then got a podium in San Diego, but his Supercross season was full of ups and downs.
He’s been vocal about bike changes that have been made, as well as honest about injuries and sicknesses that he’s dealt with this year, so it’s been a journey.
After High Point Barcia announced that he has now tweaked his other knee. So the one that that he’s been fighting through the pain on now has an almost identical twin. Both knees are on struggle street at the moment.
Did Bam Bam complain about it? We don’t know, but publicly he has not, which makes him look like an absolute unit right now.
He fought through some more adversity for 10-8 scores on the day at High Point. Sure it’s not podiums or Moto wins, but he was fourth overall at Thunder Valley. I know this was before both knees got destroyed, but he’s been very consistent so far this season despite some bumps and bruises.
I’m hoping that the weekend off will give Barcia’s knees a nice break. I’m hoping he isn’t forced to take any time off.
We need Bam Bam out there! Especially for the next round at Southwick!
