News and Notes: Arlington *Swoll Update

Yeah, round 7 of the 2024 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship took place Saturday at The Jerry Dome in Arlington. You know the results (or maybe you don’t, so we posted them below) but we are here to update you on the latest news.

Note: This post will continue to update, so make sure to check back.

Austin Forkner. How is he? That’s the main thing that we went to bed on Saturday night thinking about after his horrendous crash while leading the 450SX Main Event.

As we were going to press, the only update that we have is that Forkner was alert and was getting his shoulder further evaluated. He left the track walking on his own two feet to the medic mule in a neck brace. We wish him nothing but the best in his recovery.

With Forkner crashing out, a charging Haiden Deegan took over the lead and went on to win his first ever 250SX Main Event. He ended up ghost riding his bike after the finish.

The 450 class plot thickens as Cooper Webb grabbed his second of the season. Late race chaos erupted as Jett Lawrence crashed late into the main event while leading. Lawrence would remount behind Webb with a hard charging Eli Tomac in tow. Tomac had crashed early in the main event and was clicking off faster lap times than the rest of the field on his way to closing in on the top three. Tomac at one point was in 16th.

Jett would mount a last lap charge in an attempt to get Webb, but would run into the back of a lapped Vince Friese as they were exiting the whoop section. It wasn’t Friese’s fault, it was just a racing incident.

That’s six 450SX wins in Arlington for Cooper Webb.

Sunday Updates:

Jalek Swoll

Triumph Factory Racing’s Jalek Swoll had a bad get off in the 250SX Main Event that saw him down for a while. He would be eventually carted off by the medic crew and he posted this update on his Instagram this afternoon.

He did not report on any injuries or concussions, so we will assume that he will be ready to go next week in Daytona.

  1. There is generally always “bare” concrete around the edges nothing to get crazy about. Even if they put dirt to the edge it wouldt have saved any injury…… that was a Gnarly get off and injury was unfortunately inevitable any time you eject at those speeds. We choose to ride , we consent to the risks

  2. So, Friese. The incident with Tomac ….. Tomac left himself open but Vince always looks for contact, regardless of the situation. Friese with Roczen ….. Vince suddenly changed lines swooping in. VF at fault. Friese with Jett …….. race leaders coming thru, VF should have been out of the race line. Why do so many “race incidents” involve Friese? All of this IMO

  3. On the Friese, Jett incident. I’ve watched Vince Friese blatantly disregard the rules ever since he rolled out on the track. But yet, he constantly gets away with it. I think he should be riding for Team Unemployed. Yeah, I know he’s probably a privateer by now, anyway. The AMA needs to start fining the crap out of this bad-attitude clown!

  4. Vince friese is a liability and he needs to be fined big time. I hope Austin and jalek come back soon was really looking forward to seeing a battle with haiden and Austin
