Aaron Plessinger Throws Down $10k for vurbmoto Top Gun Showdown Pro Purse

We all know Aaron Plessinger has cemented himself as one of the great American Motocross heroes of the 21 Century. He could literally never show up to another race, shave his amazing cowboy mustache and stop drinking cold beer on the podium and he’d still go down in history as one of the baddest dudes to ever play the game. Instead, AP just raised the bar.

You’ve probably read by now that vurbmoto is the OFFICIAL title sponsor of the Muddy Creek Top Gun Showdown this weekend. What you are about to find out is that Plessinger just tossed in a whopping $10k for the 6th Annual Cody Gragg Memorial 2-Stroke race on October 9. Don’t thank us, thank AP!

“It’s the least I could do for how much they (Cody Gragg) did for me back in the day,” AP said. “I figured why not try to bring more people to the Top Gun Showdown and make it a really gnarly purse! It’s good to give back to where you came from and I always raced the Top Gun Showdown when I was younger. I look forward to trying to grow the local races again.”

Plessinger also shares a personal relationship with the Gragg family. “I first met Cody and Chris at Steele Creek GNCC and how I met them was actually pretty funny. I was on 65s and he was on 85s at the time. I think he was riding around in the back at the time and I came around and yelled, “C’mon, pick it up!” or something like that. He found me after that and Cody and I just hit it off. When we were together, we were inseparable. He was such a cool dude. His family invited me down to stay at their house multiple times. My dad and I went with Cody and Chris to all the Spring Nationals one year. They were like a second family to me and just awesome people.”

The purse is now up to $25,650 for the 2-Stork race and over $36,000 in purse money for the weekend. See below for the payout on the current purse money, then go practice your starts for this weekend. We’ll see ya in Tennessee on Friday!
