Updates on Chase Sexton, Justin Cooper, Justin Barcia and More Ahead of High Point National

The AMA Pro Motocross Championship is heading east for the High Point National this Saturday and there has been some injury news dropping over the last few days. Instead of making you click a bunch of links I have decided to put the latest news in one place. 

450 Class

Justin Barcia will miss this weekend after suffering a back injury during qualifying at Thunder Valley. While he was able to race the first moto, he did not line up for moto two and per the team, “will spend the next two weeks focused on rehabilitation and recovery under the guidance of his medical team.”

Justin Cooper is out for a second straight race due to a concussion sustained at Hangtown. He’s expected back after the off-weekend at RedBud on July 4. 

Chase Sexton has a massive crash at press day at Thunder Valley and injured his knee. The team announced on Thursday that he is out for High Point.

Also out: Joey Savatgy, Malcolm Stewart, Eli Tomac

250 Class

Max Anstie is out again after his huge crash in qualifying at the Fox Raceway opener. 

Daxton Bennick missed Thunder Valley after having multiple crashes at the opening two rounds. The team has yet to release an update on his status for High Point. 

Austin Forkner crashed during qualifying at Thunder Valley and per Racer X will also miss this weekend. 

Nate Thrasher will miss a second straight race after being part of a first-turn pileup at Hangtown.
