SX Global Appoints Former Nitro Circus CEO as Executive Chairman

The World Supercross Championship has made some big moves lately and it looks like they are all in on racing and a rebrand in 2024.

Yesterday, WSX announced that they’ve hired on former Nitro Circus CEO, Andy Edwards in the role of their Executive Chairman. This announcement, plus their ten year deal with the FIM are aggressive moves, and it shows that the WSX Championship looks forward to being here for the long haul. A month ago, rumors were swirling that their future was in doubt, so this is good news for everyone. The more racing the better!

SX Global, promoter of the FIM World Supercross Championship (FIM WSX), is delighted to announce the appointment of Andy Edwards as Executive Chairman.

An experienced leader and world-class operator, Edwards joins the SX Global Board at a pivotal time as the Championship continues to gain momentum ahead of its soon to be revealed 2024 season.

Possessing a wealth of experience, Edwards is a hugely respected figure in the action sports space. As the Co-Founder and former CEO of Nitro Circus, he spearheaded multi-platform media expansion and executed blockbuster live events globally for the sports entertainment brand.

Prior to his tenure at Nitro Circus, he served as the Chief Operating Officer of Global Action Sports where he played a critical role in producing and promoting the Australasian Super X supercross series.

Andy Edwards, SX Global Executive Chairman, said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be on board. It’s a fantastic opportunity and I’m really looking forward to helping develop the extraordinary potential of the FIM World Supercross Championship at this exciting stage of its growth.”
