Welcome to the 2023 Slaw/VurbWes/Troy Dog Combined 250/450 Top Ten Power Rankings! Slaw, Wes, and Troy each have created their own list of who they believe carry the most power in the sport. They each have created their own categories and have weighted these people accordingly, whether its speed, following, SX skills, you name it.
Each week these rankings will be updated so that you guys can argue about how wrong they are in the comment section! Feel free to tell us if we’re right/wrong/or completely dumb.
Troy’s Rankings:
We’re going to New Jersey, which means it’s time for gym, tanning, and laundry. THE CAB’S ARE HERE! Seeing as how the Jersey Shore is only a quick two hour trip from MetLife Stadium, I figured why not put Mike, Ron, Vinny, and Snooki on the top step?
The first of two East/West Showdowns is this weekend and it’s brother versus brother as everybody is hyping up. I personally think that RJ Hampshire will get the win because these races don’t normally go as planned. RJ has been strong and he wants a win this season badly.
The Vurbmoto Pod/Broadcast has officially launched! I’ve been telling Chili Dog for the past three years that we need to invest in pods and he finally did it! Stay tuned for more episodes as we create magic on our new podcast network. Our set looks incredible and I can’t wait to do some episodes.
James Stewart makes his first appearance on my list! Stew was my absolute hero when I was growing up and the reason I started racing. To see him go away from the sport to see what he’s accomplished as an announcer/broadcaster in such a short period of time is so Stew. He did an amazing job in Atlanta and being paired with RC should happen every weekend.
Jordon Smith is another dark horse for a win on any weekend. He’s staying with Star Racing for 2024 and I believe he will be a champion as I discussed in my T-Dog’s Takes column this week.
Chase Sexton is the only 450 rider on my list this week after his HUGE wire-to-wire win in Atlanta. He’s got 17 points to make up in four rounds. Can he get close?
I interviewed Henry Miller this week and I should have his column out by the time you read this. Miller has finished the last two 250SX East Region rounds in 9th and 6th. Both of those results are career highs on his Ti Lube Honda. He’s on a mission to show what he can do at the Showdown.
Slaw’s Rankings:
I’m back!!!!! After a week off I return with some the best rankings in the industry. I will bullet point my thoughts so it is easier to read. Troy Dog has a hard time reading, so I’m making it easy for him to see how much better my rankings are.
- What a show! What a cast!
- Did you know the Weege is a Jersey native? Yep, sure is. One of the best in the sport got his start flagging at Englishtown. Well, maybe.
- The Tend man is also a Jersey native. When not snacking down on those flaky tendies, Tom is one of the best film peps in the game. See those RX Films? Yep, that’s Tommy T.
- Best Jersey Shore person ever!
- Bro vs bro…. bro!! This could be good, bro!
- Still in the points lead.
- A close second to Tomac.
- Second best Jersey Shore person.
- Is 17 too much? Either way, impressive win by Chase in ATL!
