Monster Energy AMA Supercross is back in action on Saturday in Salt Lake City, UT for the final round of the championship. This weekend is also a 250SX East/West Showdown.
Read on for the championship scenarios, the viewing schedule and more below as we head into the weekend.
Points Race
450SX
Cooper Webb: 347
Chase Sexton: 338
We broke it down in-depth earlier this week, but Cooper Webb enters the finale with a nine-point lead over Chase Sexton. If Sexton were to win Saturday, Webb would need to finish fifth or better to clinch the title.
Read the full breakdown.
250SX East Division
Tom Vialle: 160
Seth Hammaker: 159
RJ Hampshire: 157
A true three-way battle, winner-take-all showdown entering SLC in the East Division. If Hampshire finishes first and Vialle takes second, they’ll be tied but Hampshire would have two wins, which is the tie-breaker.
If none of the three win the race, Vialle has to finish ahead of Hammaker and not give up more than two points to Hampshire because he loses the tiebreaker in any tie scenario.
Hampshire wins a tie with Vialle, but not with Hammaker. If Hampshire finishes second, he’d need both riders to finish fourth or worse. If he finishes third, he’d need both to finish fifth or worse.
In regards to Hammaker, he needs to finish ahead of Vialle and prevent Hampshire from gaining three points. It is going to be wild.
NOTE: Haiden Deegan clinched the 250SX West Division last weekend in Denver.
