Following round 14 of Monster Energy AMA Supercross, AMA Race Direction released its penalty report and Vince Friese has been issued a two license points penalty after Race Direction reviewed a potential Blue Flag violation in the second 450SX race in the Triple Crown.
Per the release, Friese was issued a first-offense warning for the event and assessed two rider license points. Friese now has a total of nine (9) rider license points for the season.

Also of note, Tristian Lane was penalized five (5) championship points, assessed two (2) rider license points, and issued a monetary fine due to “aggressive/reckless riding” in an incident with Grant Harlan in race 3.

Reviews Resulting in Penalties
- 450A Qualification 1 – Race Direction reviewed a violation of the Red Cross flag/light. Rider #4 (Sexton) was determined to have jumped in a Red Cross flag/light zone in track section 4. As a result, he lost his fastest lap time from the session.
- 250A Qualification 2 – Race Direction reviewed a violation of the Red Cross flag/light. Rider #10 (Hammaker) was determined to have jumped in a Red Cross flag zone in track section 2. As a result, he lost his fastest lap time from the session.
- 450 LCQ – Race Direction reviewed a violation of the Red Cross flag/light. Rider #711 (Lane) was determined to have jumped in a Red Cross flag zone. This was his first offense during the event, a two-position penalty was applied.
- 450 Race 2 – Race Direction reviewed a potential Blue Flag violation involving rider #719 (Friese). Upon review, it was determined that rider #719 impeded the progress of rider #96 (Lawrence). Rider #719 was issued a first-offense warning for the event and assessed two rider license points. Rider #719 now has a total of nine (9) rider license points for the season.
- 250 Race 3 – Race Direction reviewed a violation of the Red Cross flag/light. Rider #91 (Clark) was determined to have jumped in a Red Cross flag zone following an incident involving rider #141 (Romano). A two-position penalty was applied, adjusting the rider’s finishing position from 13th to 15th.
- 450 Race 3 – Race Direction reviewed an incident of aggressive/reckless riding involving rider #711 (Lane), who made contact with rider #62 (Harlan), forcing rider #62 off the track in section 5. The action was determined to be overly aggressive. Rider #711 was penalized five (5) championship points, assessed two (2) rider license points, and issued a monetary fine.
