T-Dog’s Takes: I Want To Be Plessinger’s Hat Holder

Troy Dog joined the Blu Cru and you should too! Have you seen the new 2024 models with the special livery? Go look right now! It’s amazing. Yamaha also supports T-Dog Squad ELITE Athletes Grant Harlan and Marshal Weltin. Purchase a Yamaha today and shred like them, Eli Tomac, Cooper Webb, Haiden Deegan, plus more!

We’ve seen a ton of drama go down this week regarding Jett Lawrence/Jason Anderson and Chase Sexton/Cooper Webb. It’s great from a content perspective, so I’m not complaining! In the midst of all that, some dude that they call the Cowboy got his first 450SX win.

In the most Vurbmoto way ever, I’m here to talk about Aaron Plessinger’s big win. Actually, no I’m not.

As I sat on my couch watching the race on Saturday night I could only think of one more goal I wanted to accomplish in my life. I want to become Plessinger’s cowboy hat holder! Just like, one time, you know? I want to have my moment and retire forever.

I didn’t even know this was a thing until that special on the broadcast, where those fans had the opportunity to do this at Anaheim 1. I’m all in on making this happen.

The best part about this for me is that I’ve known AP for a very long time. I watched him race on a KTM 65 and then YZ85s around local District 11 races. We’re Ohioans and, unlike Cade Clason, we stick together. Cade has decided that he doesn’t claim Ohio as a home state anymore and that’s sad.

This is a BIG job and I know I’m cut out for this. I need to make sure the hat doesn’t get dirty, creased, or stolen. I need to have a good lap time to take it out of the case, which means I need some practice. I also will need to practice the handoff with him to make sure that we don’t fumble. We need to be clean.

Can you imagine how cool this will be to have me run this important accessory up to Aaron right before opening ceremonies? I think we should make this happen at our hometown race in Indianapolis. The crowd will go absolutely crazy for us (him). The fans in Indy are going to be absolutely unhinged for him this year after his win last weekend.

I was thinking about AP’s rise in popularity over the last five years and it’s truly something. He made one comment about doing this for Dale Earnhardt on the Daytona podium and made an entire persona out of it. He’s embraced the cowboy lifestyle so much that he’s even bought horses. Where we are from in Ohio, well it’s basically Kentucky. The closest major city is Cincinnati and that is on the banks of the Ohio River, which separates Ohio and Kentucky. So, we’re basically Kentuckians (I am because we moved here eight years ago). Kentucky is known as the horse state. Thus, the Cowboy AP is now a Kentuckian. I’m claiming him as that. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

Alright, I’m off to tell AP that this is happening and I’ll keep you posted on the progress that I make.

Viva La HAT HOLDER!
