Troy Dog’s Shack: Jessica Patterson Launches Lvl Up Training Facility with Austin Stroupe Coaching

This week I was HAND PICKED by the undisputed GOAT OF WMX, Jessica “JP$” Patterson to write a column about her new training facility she’s opening up. YES, ME the CEO of all people. She originally wanted me to write a press release, so instead she’s getting jam-packed Troy Dog’s Shack column. Lucky her…I know, right? She’s got a real Field of Dreams scenario here where she has built it and now the people will come.

If you missed the press release check it out below:

To me there are a couple of important items to unpack from the PR.

Not only has JP taken on track ownership at the amazing Nxt Lvl 101 facility, (we saw it first-hand at the Vurb Classic) but she’s added a new element to the training facility game. LVL UP Training Facility is now open and ready to get you or your child on track doing the right techniques and gaining speed. Patterson’s track is the only training facility that has held a Vurb Classic event!

The second important item is the hiring of Austin Stroupe. Yes, THE Stroop-A-Loop is BACK! Eleven years ago Stroupe was at the top of his game going back and forth with Christophe Pourcel for the 250 Eastern Region Championship aboard his factory Suzuki. He was once the hottest amateur prospect in the sport and was picked by Mitch Payton for the first couple years of his career on Pro Circuit. Now, he brings a winning mentality to LVL UP Training Facility.

I haven’t seen Stroupe’s name since 2015/2016 when We Went Fast’s BJ Smith went too fast and beat me to the interview for a feature story for Racer X Illustrated. At the time he was making a small comeback in Amsoil Arenacross. Fast forward to five or six years later and I’m happy to see Stroupe get this opportunity. Stroupe Dog was always one of my favorite riders growing up. Chili Dog always had the freshest Xtreme Team Green videos even before vurbmoto was a thing.

If I were you I would check this new facility out. You have a bazillion time WMX champion running the show, so you know you’ll be more than ready by the time you need to race. On top of that you got our guy Stroupe who has seen the ins and outs of this sport on teams and in life in general. The team of Patterson/Stroupe sounds like a dangerous combo that I would like to invest in as a dirt bike rider.

The skills that you are getting with this duo alone are a great deal. However, you get more than that. I’ve never personally met Patterson or Stroupe. I’ve texted Stroupe a bit and have talked to those who know Patterson well. From the sounds of those who know them I have never heard a bad thing said about either of them. Patterson seems to do whatever is needed for anyone she knows and that’s going to take her far in this training facility game. Stroupe seems to be the same way and I will be doing an update down the road to see how this facility grows. Stay tuned for that!
