Locals say that the sandy hills in Cambridge, Minnesota roared to life and became the home of legendary racers starting way back in the 70s. Core motocross has sprouted from the ever evolving terrain since. The pristine beach sand native to the land has provided fierce battles to this day. At the 2026 Race Tech Open, just like the 70s; it was the racer and their machine against a challenging course; trying to out-run the competition. The gnarly Cambridge track continued to be an icon of true motocross at the core!
Nostalgia is grand and the core of racing hasn’t changed. The world is evolving. Motocross, “the sport” is ever-changing. The days of twin shocks having a couple inches of travel, green flag starts, and tracks around a few markers in a field are replaced with production equipment competing with the factories and pro level events for the amateurs filling the calendar.
Navigating this evolution has been a challenge for every business in the industry whether they are selling motorcycles, distributing gear, creating hard parts, or running dirt bike races. When facing adversity there are two choices… fight or flight.
A Place Beyond the Sands documents the journey the Barna Family uses when they operate a place close to their hearts. They dedicate their passion to evolve the Cambridge MX track into a destination they dream about… A place their motocross family deserves to experience. The passion and connection shared with their family is evident and has rapidly expands into creating many successful, memorable and growing events at BCMX.
Click play, enjoy the deep dive behind the scenes of how a core moto family is sharing their love for the sport by teaming up with Race Tech, an iconic brand; creating the most fun, memorable, “give back” event on the motocross calendar.
