Listen to one of the thousands of moto podcasts out there (please subscribe to the Vurbmoto Podcast Network) and you are bound to hear riders tell stories of ungrateful fans asking for stuff after the race. Fans that think they are obligated to free stuff since they paid to go to the race where those said riders risked it all to entertain them for a few hours.
Listen, this is NOT most fans. MOST moto fans are freaking rad and super grateful for even free stickers. But certain fans are just d**** and honestly, good for those riders to say no.
Slaw likes to bring positive vibes to the sport, so if I’m going to bring up something negative, well I will counter with something amazing.
Take this past weekend. Justin Starling (Troy Dog Elite Athlete, whatever that means) raced a GNCC and told this amazing story of a fan WHO RETURN HIS GOGGLES.
Yep, Star Dog, being the nice dude he is, threw some goggles for his fans to have. Instead of keeping said goggles, this fan returned them to the MX Sports trailer (NOT EVEN STAR DOG HIMSELF MIND YOU) so Star Dog could have them back.
GNCC fans, man. They are built different.
