The Best Thing to Happen to Arenacross In Years Was Oakland Supercross Being Cancelled

The best thing to happen to Arenacross was Oakland Supercross being canned due to extreme weather.

Let’s be real: Since the late ‘90s/early 2000s no one really paid attention to Arenacross. Aside from a takeout video that would go viral here and there, it wasn’t on the mind of many race fans.

Which, is a shame. Arenacross back in the day was pure chaos. You had Bud Man, Den Dog and the rest of the misfits taking each other out, hitting the club and doing it all over again.

THIS IS WHAT ARENACROSS SHOULD BE!

Don’t try and be Supercross. That you are not. Be the outlaws. Be the wild child. Be ENTERTAINING.

This past weekend was that! We had takeouts. We had fights. The entire moto community was talking about it! Hell, there is an eight page thread on Vital about it. Name the last time that happened? Spoiler: Never.

I always refer to Den Dog when it comes to AX. To me, he was what AX meant to me.

Here was his take on the Cade/Stank situation and I’m here for it.

One suggestion for AX: move it to the winter for the love of all things moto. With San Diego this weekend, AX will once again go to the back burner. Which is a shame. Because it is an amazing sport.

  1. I’ve loved arenacross since my grandson raced it for several seasons. Lots more action. My family attended the Prescott event. Loved it from beginning to end.
