T-Dog’s Takes: Who Is Winning the Motocross of Nations?

Notice that this column now has a sponsor? That’s right! Troy Dog joined the Blu Cru and you should too! Have you seen the new 2024 models with the special livery? Go look right now! It’s amazing.

The Motocross of Nations (sorry Denny Stephenson, I’d use des here, but apparently that’s not relevant anymore) is one of my favorite races of the year. I love the vibe, unity, and awesome racing that the event brings. You truly never know what to expect and the millions of storylines throughout the day truly make it exciting. Not to mention the race takes place in the Fall, which is the best time to race in general.

It’s become an annual tradition of mine in T-Dog’s Takes to truly take my time and breakdown who I think will win the Chamberlain Trophy in 2023. I put a lot of thought into this article and my choice to win is none other than TEAM USA BABY!

It’s simple really. We are sending three riders who absolutely bleed red, white, and blue. We have a team captain that has a mullet, mustache, and a cowboy hat. We have a dude that played America’s favorite pastime his entire life. AND we also have what could be one of the greatest sitcom dads that this sport has ever seen.

What is more American than that lineup?

If you were a Michelin starred chef like Justin Bogle, you would most definitely pick all of those ingredients when creating the most American meal ever. Aaron Plessinger, RJ Hampshire, and Christian Craig have stepped up to the plate and they will knock this MXoN out of the park and then they will scarf some apple pie afterwards while watching fireworks.

I’m not saying that it’s going to be easy this weekend by any means. This is the Olympics of MX, so all of these teams are going to bring their A game for the pride of their country. We have a target on our back as well since WE won the race last year with home field advantage. Team France is the home team this year and they will be tough to beat. Our team is loaded with guys who race with heart and they’ve waited a long time to have the honor to ride for Team USA, so I like our chances.

IF I was a betting man, I’d place my bet on the Cowboy, the baseball player, and the all-American dad to bring home a W for the good ol’ US of A.

Godspeed gentleman. I feel like NASA is about to send you guys to the moon right now. However, just know this, when you step on that podium at the end of the race day as winners, just utter these words to the crowd, “That’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.”

We’ll know what it means.

Team USA in three.
