This post is sponsored by Yamaha and we are giving away a brand-new YZ250F and raising the biggest Women’s pro purse in history. More details!
The Vurb Classic is unlike any other race on the planet! Trust me, I WOULD NOT just be a CEO for any normal company. We here at Vurb like to have fun, put out extremely original content, and we absolutely love giving back to those who support us.
That’s why at our Classic we have eight one-of-a-kind awards to hand out to the participants at our event! Here’s the breakdown and what you need to do to earn the awards!
Conductor’s Cup
This award is handed out to the training facility who performs the best at the Vurb Classic! We break it down and the facility with the best top three overall finishing riders will win their facility the Cup. These riders can be a mix of classes or in the same class, depending on how it all breaks down. Riders must list their facility when registering as we can’t go back and add sponsors later. Moto scores are added and divided by total number of motos. We even have a super advanced algorithm that helps us figure out tie breakers. That’s legit. We have Chili Dog on the side of the track during the motos with an abacus and protractor to help him figure all of this math out.
Race Tech Most Shocking Performance Award
The criteria for this award is pretty simple. Be a standout. Literally, come out of nowhere and win a moto, beat a hired gun, throw a slaw dog in the garbage where it belongs. Do something incredible and you could win this award. The winner will also receive a Factory Setup from Race Tech AND will get their Gold Level Support for any future sets you need done.
Vurb Outstanding Performance Award
We give away six of these per Classic and each era of racer gets one! Yes, you old legends get one too in the vet classes!
Amatuer and Youth Performance Award (for Non-Hired Guns)
I have two names for you: Seth Hammaker and Team USA hero and 250SX East Champion Justin Cooper. Do you know what these two riders have in common? That’s right! They’ve won this award before and if you ask them they will tell you that it ranks number uno on their best accomplishments. All you need to do to win is to not be a Hired Gun and beat a Hired Gun! Do you have what it takes? You’ll be on Team USA one day if you do!
Amateur and Power Award (for Hired Guns)
We’re giving this award to the Hired Guns who have the best overall racing performance. We take EVERYTHING into account on this one. We look at your moto scores, social media presence, and we look at your race craft/style. We give one to our Youth (85cc and under) and Amateur (125cc and up) classes.
Clayton Sain King of the Classic Award*
This award right here is the top award of the event (now paired with the Queen of the Classic Award). It goes to the rider who has the best finishing average on the weekend, but you must race at least two classes to be eligible. Again, our resident math professor Chili Dog will be calculating your total points by your number of motos for your finishing average. We bought him a brand new Texas Instruments Scientific Calculator for this event. That just shows you how serious we are because those bad boys are pricey!
*On a serious note: this award will now always be dedicated to 2021 King, Clayton Sain, who sadly passed away last year. We will forever keep his name attached to this award for him. RIP Clayton.
Queen of the Classic
New for 2022 (sorry it took this long) is our Queen of the Classic Award! It’s more prestigious than winning prom queen I can guarantee that. Our staff will be glued to the track and voting for the female athlete that stands out the most. Also, we have been raising money for the Women’s Pro Purse and 100% of the proceeds will go to the payout of the Women’s Pro class at the Classic! If you’d like to donate then click this link and maybe win a YZ250F! You still have plenty of time. Our goal is to have the biggest WMX purse in the history of the sport and I’m not talking about Chanel or Gucci!
Fist Gloves Hotdog King Award
Do you have what it takes to be the winner of our hot dog eating contest? If you win then you get our award. Also, I guess Slaw Dog is bringing in a “Hired Bun” so do me a favor and beat that team. Oh yeah, don’t eat the Slaw Dogs, you’ll get food poisoning. Stick with the Troy Dog.
Good luck to you all and Viva la Vurb!
