Welcome to Stewsday, we’re we’ve taken Tuesday and made it all about the legend James Stewart. Every week we’ll revisit some of our favorite Stew memories and reminisce on the good old days. This column is sponsored by Troy Dog who is always up to date on everything Stew.

I’ve been having a lot of fun going down memory lane and looking at all of Stews big races from each city on the tour. So, I decided to look through the results again and see what we had for St. Louis. The Lou has the best dirt on the tour and many riders have looked forward to coming back here. Stew has had to of had some memorable nights here, right?

2004 St. Louis

So much to unpack here in James’ first visit to St. Louis. He won the championship after five rounds and two rounds still remained. Josh Hansen had one of the weirdest seasons ever as he raced both regions and he wasn’t eligible for east points. Stew threw one of the nastiest in race whips ever on the last lap of the main and then did the sprinkler.

2007 St. Louis

What a classic! Tim Ferry picks up Ivan Tedesco’s bike thinking it’s his after a crash in the second corner. Chad Reed makes an aggressive pass back on James on the first lap of the main and they both go down! Carmichael gets a bad start as well and comes through the pack to win in his last visit to St. Louis. Stew comes back to make the pass on Reed in the same corner they went down in. Watch at the end where Ricky waits for James to ask what happened and then James and Reed start yelling at one another. Ah, good times indeed. I saw that shove Chad…that’s a fine today.

2009 St. Louis

What a wild night of racing on a wacky track designed by Travis Pastrana. Stew crashed in the heat race and was cruising to another win in the main event when he threw it away with a handful of laps to go. The dragon’s back to dragon’s back was crazy.

2011 St. Louis

Stew won on this night, but I can’t find the race on YouTube. It looked like classic St. Louis though.

2014 St. Louis

This was actually Stewart’s last ever 450SX win. This was number 50. This was a week after his 14th to 1st comeback in Toronto and he had won three in a row. Viva la Stew.
