Quick Hits: Live Race Reports From the Mad Skills Vurb Classic

Welcome to the 2021 Mad Skills Vurb Classic at Nxt Lvl 101. Throughout today and Saturday we will be spotlighting some classes and providing updates. Make sure to check out our galleries, social, videos and live timing and scoring throughout the weekend to stay up on all the action.

250 B

WOW, we couldn’t have asked for a better moto to start the weekend. 250 B was an absolute slugfest between Daxton Bennick and Gage Linville. These two were tied at the hip all moto. Bennick had the early lead, but Linville managed to make a pass on lap 2. Bennick wasn’t letting him go though, as he hounded him the rest of the moto. Coming down to the last corner, Bennick was all over him but Linville held on for the moto win.

85 (12-15)

Dakota Baker looked to have this class wrapped up, as he took a HUGE early lead. But early in the race, we’re pretty sure he went down in the back section which allowed Brilee Scott to take over. He wasn’t challenged from there and went on to take the first moto win. Jace Baker would finish second.

Open Pro Sport

This was another classic (see what I did there?) at the Vurb Classic. Jamal Porter jumped out to the early lead in the first Open Pro Sport moto, but he had early pressure from Kyle Bitterman. By the second lap Bitterman had taken over the top spot but Jack Chambers was the man on the move. By lap 4 Chambers had closed the gap on Bitterman and made for the lead two laps later. He’d go on to take the moto win over Bitterman with Porter rounding out the podium. Caden Braswell and Bryson Raymond finished out the moto top 5.

125 Open

The 125 Class was absolutely LOADED. Names like Logan best, Noah Stevens, Luke Fauser, Konnor Bourchard, Casey Cochran and more lined up. But it was Logan Best who rose to the occasion in this moto, as he led start to finish to take moto one win.

Vet 30+

Chad Reed is back racing…. AT THE VURB CLASSIC. The two-time Monster Energy Supercross Champion grabbed the holeshot over ClubMX owner Brandon Hass and Loretta’s Champion Broc Peterson. Hass keep Reed honest early by as the laps ticked down, Reedy opened up a gap and crusied to the moto win over Hass and Peterson.

250 Pro Sport

Another amazing moto here at the Mad Skills Vurb Classic. Kyle Bitterman jumped out to the early lead but he had a ton of pressure from Caden Braswell and Jack Chambers. You could throw a blanket over the trio early, but by the end of the second lap, Chambers had moved into second behind Bitterman. On the next lap, Bitterman crashed, which allowed Chambers to take over the lead. Braswell kept him honest for the last two laps, but Chambers held on for the moto win. Bitterman would remount to finish third.

Open B

The Daxton Bennick and Gage Linville battles continued in Open B. Bennick grabbed the holeshot in this one but had Linville all over him THE ENTIRE MOTO. Every time Linville tried to make up time, Bennick would counter. You could throw a wide blanket over the two the entire moto, but Bennick would withstand the heat from Linville the entire moto to take the win. Trevor Colip, Trevor Nelson and Nate Mason would round out the top five.

250 B Moto Two

See above. This moto was basically a repeat of the last.

The Daxton Bennick/Gage Linville battle is off the rails this weekend. In the second 250 B moto Bennick again grabbed the holeshot and had to hold off Linville the entire moto. The two checked out, but whatever Linville tried to capitalize on, Bennick was there to counter. He’d go on to win the moto over Linville to even the scores, as Linville won moto one.

85cc (12-15) Moto Two

Logan Mortberg rebounded from a eight in the first moto to take the win in 85cc (12-15) moto two. It was once again Dakota Baker out front early, but by the second lap Mortberg had taken over the lead. He wouldn’t be challenged from there, as he cruised to the moto win over Baker.
