Welcome to the 2023 Slaw/Troy Dog/Ginger Dog Combined 250/450 Top Ten Power Rankings! Slaw, Ginger, and Troy each have created their own list of who they believe carry the most power in the sport. They each have created their own categories and have weighted these people accordingly, whether its speed, following, skills, you name it. Or it could just be random. Basically, whatever is happening that week is fair game.

Each week these rankings will be updated so that you guys can argue about how wrong they are in the comment section! Feel free to tell us if we’re right/wrong/or completely dumb.

Slaw Dog

-That hair is very punk rock. Moto needs more punk rock. This ain’t a fing suit and tie sport. I want spikes and dyed hair and personality. Respect, Levi.

-The Vurb Shred Tour invades Lincoln Trail for Summer Slam this weekend. There will be FREE e-moto and pit bike racing. FREE STACYC and Greenger racing. FREE wrestling and bands. The only thing not FREE is the racing.

-K-Dub is such a legend. We haven’t heard from him in a while and that sucks. We’ll the boys over at Winners Take Y’all got him on the pod. Go listen right now on Vurbmoto Podcast Network.

-THE RIPPAH IS BACK! So rad and glad the Jimmy D is healthy.

-Jett gonna Jett.

-What a place to get your first win–and be the first American to win in Pro Moto in 2023–at RedBud on Fourth of July weekend. Almost as cool as ghost riding the whip after your first win. Almost.

-That corner Kenny was destroying…. my God! And Red Bull posted the vid of Kenny jumping like 5000 feet this week. What a G.

-I really thought the curse of Pulp would be overcome. Then they had a mechanical. Shame. Still, props to Steve, founder of PulpMX Hockey, and the Wild Cat crew.

-Great start to WSX for Shane. Good human there.

-To still have a points lead after NOT racing a moto is pretty bad ass.

Ginger Dog

-After RedBud I’m convinced Levi and I would be best friends. The hair. The stare. Ginger approved.

-First overall win in his pro career at the most epic place on Earth. If you’re going to do it, do it here. How freaking cool.

-I was super excited to see your name pop up at the Bud. Zaaaaah, you got the RC Hard Charger Award after gaining 20 positions from 39th to 19th in the second 450 moto. It was also your first national of the year. Please show up to more. You’re good.

-He’s gaining on us! (insert Simpsons meme)

-You dominated WSX. It got kind of wild there for a minute, but you’re wearing #1 for a reason.

-The pool dive needs to continue and Freddie was the perfect guy to do it. Should I talk more about my love for HEP?

-Jalek, I wanted to keep this authentic so I looked up nothing about you. That may sound bad, but it was purposeful. I’ve rooted for you for awhile. Yes, I do look up stats every now and then but I choose to keep you in my mental log. Yes, the crash outs, injuries, and BS is a constant mental hole to dig out of BUT I admire the s**t out of you. You pretty much bring the saying “1 step back 3 steps forward” to a whole new level (and for any rider out there, you’re more than just a stat list). You took overall 14th after a DNF moto 1 and that’s something to note. Dear God stay healthy. You’re capable of so much.

-Jamie, you’re wearing 333 and that’s a big deal to me. It’s perfect for you.

-I was very invested in my girl’s IG story this week. I’m assuming we all know Dianna Dahlgren BATES (AKA Lady Di of the dirt bike world). I’ll keep it quick and say that all that you need to know is that her man is home safe with his babies. God bless America.

-I’m going so come hang out with me.

Troy Dog

-If John Dowd showed up to race the 450 class tomorrow then he would finish around the top five at the ripe age of 57.

-I wrote about Deegan in my Five Things column earlier this week. However, it was still pretty impressive to see that when the dominant rider has an issue that a 17-year-old rookie would be the one to pick up the pieces.

-Levi Kitchen is my dude. He loves to give me crap and I can’t wait to see what he thinks when I have him third on the list after a moto win. I did it on purpose, bro.

-The Summer Slam round of the Vurb Shred Tour is finally HERE! If you aren’t at Lincoln Trail this weekend then what are you doing with your life? Hot dog’s, wrestling, dirt bikes, and all kinds of awesome shenanigans await.

-Here’s a reminder that two weeks ago Justin Cooper swallowed his handlebars and now he’s back on the podium. He’s a bad dude!

-Who the *bleep* is this Bryce Shelly guy who finished 11th overall in his second ever national in the 450 class? I know that answer and I will have a column about it soon.

-Mitchell Harrison once helped me for no reason at Mini O’s when he was 12 years old. He finished 11th overall at RedBud and I say that he should have a full-time ride in the States.

-Luca “The Hit Man” is starting to come into his own in the 450 class. He finished 14th overall at RedBud and the 11th in the second moto was not a fluke. He’s in his rookie season and he held it down for the Rock River Yamaha crew.

-Jimmy D is racing the Wick? What a cool story! I really didn’t think that we’d ever see him race again because of his case of Lyme Disease. Yet, here we are. Jimmy could go 40-40 and the place would still go nuts!

-I love clam chowder and it’s a staple in Massachusetts. I don’t think that it’s possible to have a bad batch of the clammy whammy in the Northeast. This is what all the Southwick locals eat for breakfast before going out in the B practices and putting in the fastest qualifying times.
