Since it’s the off-season we decided to change things up a bit in the Guts Racing Vurb Power Rankings. Going forward, Slaw and Troy will be ranking different topics until racing starts again at Anaheim. Ginger Dog is currently breaking up fights in middle school for the next few months and will rejoin the rankings once racing starts.
As always, feel free to flame away on Troy below or on social. Not Slaw.
Now onto this weeks topic: 450SX Anaheim 1 podium picks

I went over many scenarios in my head when coming up with this podium for the Anaheim 1 opener of the 2024 SuperMotocross Championship. This scenario was actually the most logical, but knowing how weird A1 usually is, it probably won’t happen this way. Either way, this is what I decided to go with.
I think Eli Tomac is going to be hungry to come back from his ruptured Achilles and prove a point that it was his SX championship to win last year. He’s going to want to set the tempo early especially with the hype behind Jett Lawrence and the stacked field. He’s going to have to strike first to prove that he’s the alpha and man to beat for this championship again in 2024.
J. Lawrence, on the other hand, will put up a good battle with Tomac during the opener. He will battle until late in the race and back it down with a last lap mistake. Lawrence will want to win the opener to show everyone that he’s the man to beat in the premier class. Yet, a second will show his big picture maturity. He’s going to be in this championship until the end, so a second is as good as a win in the first round.
Sexton will get a decent start in the main, but he’ll have to make several passes on his way through the pack. He’ll eventually make his way into third, but Tomac and Lawrence will be too far ahead for him to do anything about it. He’ll come out of the opener consistent, but will have to wait until round two to get redemption.

Unlike Troy, I spent very little time on my picks for the podium at A1. Why? Because I KNOW this will turn out as truth after A1. Off we go…
People big time doubting Ken. Here is what I love about Ken FOR THE OPENER. 1) He’s back on the same brand. He proved he can win on it a year ago and now with more testing, he’s going to be even better. 2) He was just racing in the FIM World Supercross Championship and took home a second title. Ken is healthy and happy and WILL win A1.
I have concerns about the Sexton switch to KTM, but in the end, you can’t stop speed and he has it in bundles.
Jett is going to be super duper fast but asking him to win A1 in his first race is a tall order. He’ll get on the podium though.
Stamp these picks.

There’s so many. 12 to 15 guys could really win. I think Hunter is gonna suprise everyone. I think Malcom is come out swinging. Sexton, roczen, plessinger,El Hombre. We have to remember alot if the top guys are on new bikes. Roczen has his bike dialed. That’s huge!
Okayy, good call with your words, your right about #94 , he’s won A-1 more than anyone. He’s comfortable on his bike now, has confidence ” that’s the difference+ he’s beat Jett in de nations . ” Stayed rt with Jett , Tomac? It seems he has bike set up issues always on the first few supercrosses. History will prove that , dark horse is #94. Sexton will have brain farts until he learns single mind focus . Needs to study ” Zen “. I’ve worked with Kenny on this the past a bunch of years . Look out for #27. Now? He’s definitely has something to prove. I hopeful maturity has rolled in . # 96 will be consistent ” top ten “. Top 5 ” Tomac, Roczen, Sexton, Jett, Webb”
