Monster Energy/Yamaha Star Racing’s Max Anstie sustained a broken leg today in qualifying in Birmingham, Alabama.
Here is the official team update: “Unfortunately Max Anstie will be sidelined from tonight’s Birmingham Supercross with a broken leg from a crash in qualifying. He will undergo further evaluation with an update to follow at a later date.”
In the first 250SX East Division qualifying session, Anstie cased hard after trying to quad in a rhythm section. He got bucked and landed feet first in the proceeding jump. He immediately grabbed at his leg. The qualifying session was red flagged as Anstie was helped off the track and loaded onto the Alpinestars medical mule.
Anstie entered round 5 of the East Division Championship trailing Tom Vialle by just one point in the standings.
We will have more information as it’s known.
