Joey Savatgy’s 2023 Monster Energy Supercross Season Is Over

Daytona was the last race for Justin Cooper and Chance Hymas. Unfortunately for Joey Savatgy he missed Daytona after sustaining a wrist injury in Arlington

Bummer deal for Joey, as Daytona was set to be his last race of the 2023 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship.

This was the plan from the beginning. Joey signed with Rick Ware Racing for 2023 and announced prior to the season he was only going to do 8 rounds.

“I plan on doing the first 8 [rounds] of AMA stuff for Rick Ware and that will be on the World Supercross bikes. So those bikes were already built for Mitch [Payton] with the hard to find neutrals and all that kind of stuff.”

Savatgy spent last summer with Monster Energy Kawasaki and finished 9th overall in the 450 Class in Pro Motocross.

He then signed with Rick Ware Racing for the two-round World Supercross Championship and finished second to Ken Roczen in the championship and won the Australian round.

Joey was solid in 2023, starting the year with six consecutive top tens before getting injured at Arlington.

Savatgy will now focus on the FIM World Supercross Championship with Rick Ware Racing.
