Current 450 Pro Motocross points leader Jett Lawrence has been assessed one rider license point and was fined an undisclosed amount for violating the code of conduct by using an obscene hand gesture during qualifying at round 4 of the Pro Motocross Championship at High Point on Saturday.
The Jett vs Haiden Deegan “rivalry” boiled over on Saturday with the two exchanging words after the first qualifying session and then Jett giving Haiden the #1 finger after he crashed in the second qualifying session and Deegan rode by and said something in his direction.
Here is the official announcement:
Race Direction reviewed an incident involving rider #1 (Lawrence) and rider #38 (Deegan) in section 11. After review, it was determined that rider #1 (Lawrence) violated the code of conduct by using an obscene hand gesture during the competition. Rider #1 (Lawrence) was assessed one rider license point and a fine.
In the post-race press conference, Deegan joked that he rode by and “asked if he’s okay” and that he “got flipped off.”
When Jett was asked about it, he jokingly said: “My tire was full of mud and I just wanted to clean it out.”
