Jeremy Martin and Levi Kitchen Out For Daytona

Monster Energy/Star Racing Yamaha announced today that both Jeremy Martin and Levi Kitchen will miss the third round of the 250SX East Region this Saturday in Daytona.

According to the team, Martin suffered a practice crash on Wednesday which will rule him out for this weekend. We’ve heard that Martin injured his shoulder in the crash.

Meanwhile, Kitchen went down late in the first race in the Triple Crown Saturday night in Arlington and after being evaluated by the Alpinestar Medical crew, the team decided he would sit out the rest of the night. According to Kitchen on Instagram, he hit his head “pretty good”.

“Yesterday was rough. Qualified decent and was feeling good in that first main. Ended up getting together with another rider and hit my head pretty good. As of now I’m going to try to rest up and hopefully be good to go for next weekend! Thank you for all the texts and calls”

Martin is currently third in points after finishing second last weekend in Arlington. Kitchen sits 16th in points.

Update: Kitchen announced on Instagram that he has a small fracture on the top of his tibia and a broken kneecap. You can read his post below.

“Just want to give y’all an update. I’m not going to make the races this weekend. Small fracture on the top of my tibia and a broken knee cap. Not sure when I’ll be back but I’m going to do everything I can to be racing again soon. Pretty bummed considering I feel I didn’t get to show what I was truly capable of but there’s always more racing to look forward to. Thanks everyone for the support.”
